Projects

A Big Thank You to all the volunteers who helped with the 2026 Spring Clean-up on May 16! It included raking, weeding, removal of sticks and golf balls and raising the new Swedish flag on the flagpole. The north side of the old split rail fence has been removed and spare posts and rails were used to repair the fence on other sides. We look forward to a new fence on the north side this summer. See more details on the project below. Participants were:

Standing: Mike Tokar, Bruce Anderson, Ric Johnson, Jean Tokar, Bob Bach, Dan Tideman, Sue Tideman, Courtney Saaf, Lisa Lundsten-Nees, Louis Nees, Eric Lundsten, Ann Lundsten. Front row: Beth Johnson, Jacque Waugh, KJ Bach.

Our 2026 project is to replace or repair the fence

The existing split rail fence runs along the cemetery’s property lines and was installed in 2007.  Over time the posts have deteriorated and rails have broken.  See the following pictures.  We want to replace the north side of this fence in 2026 with a new style lower maintenance fence.  We will recycle the old posts and rails in better condition to repair other parts of the fence.  With volunteer labor, we estimate the cost of this project to be $2,500 to $3,000.    Eventually the other sides will have to be replaced as well.  Please consider a donation to help us complete this first phase of the project!
